Composition:
Each gm powder contains;
Amoxicillin trihydrate BP 300 mg
Mode of action:
Moxilin vet ds® powder is a broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic that belongs to the beta-lactam group Moxilin vet ds.® powder interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis by inhibiting transpeptidase and carboxipeptidase enzymes and by binding with the “Penicillin binding protein” of bacteria. As a result, osmotic disorder occurs in the cell of bacteria and thus bacteria are destroyed.
Indication:
Moxilin vet ds® powder is penicillinase sensitive beta-lactam antibiotic. Moxilin vet ds® powder is used for the treatment of infections of Respiratory, Gastrointestinal & Urinary tract and reproductive system in Poultry, Calves and Lambs, like – E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Clostridium spp., Campylobacter spp., Corynebacterium spp., Haemophilus spp., Penicillinase negative Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp. etc.
Dosages & Administration:
Poultry: 50-100 mg Moxilin vet ds ® powder (10- 20 mg Amoxicillin) per kg bodyweight with drinking water for 3-5 days.
Water:
Prevention: 1 gm Moxilin vet ds® powder per 2 liters of drinking water (at 12 hours interval) for consecutive 5 days.
Treatment: 1 gm Moxilin vet ds® powder per liter of drinking water (at 12 hours interval) for consecutive 3-5 days.
Calves, Goats and Lambs: 5 gm Moxilin vet ds® powder per 100 kg body weight twice daily for 3-5 days.
Contraindication:
Moxilin vet ds® powder should not be given in case of known hypersensitivity to Beta-lactum antibiotics.
Precaution:
Once opened the sachet should be used quickly. Store in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out from the reach of children.
Side effect:
Toxicity is rare, sometimes dermatitis and eosinophilia may occur.
